{ Blog } Crush - Smitten Kitchen

Hello readers and happy weekend! The Hubby and I are going to take advantage of the beautiful weather we've been having and will take a trip to Mt. Tamalpais (Mt. Tam) either Saturday or Sunday. I hope we have a clear day like today with no haze or fog.

This week's crush is Deb from Smitten Kitchen. This shouldn't be a surprise as I've been talking about food more than usual. Everything that I've tried so far has been absolutely delicious! Her blog is full of every type of recipe you can think of; from soups to desserts, even baby food.

Here are a few tried and true recipes that I'm sure will leave your mouth watering. I made the brownies last night and I'm currently enjoying them as I type this post!

Tomato Sauce with Onion and Butter

Carrot Soup with Miso and Sesame

 Best Cocoa Brownies

Let me know if you've ever tried, or plan on trying, any of the Smitten Kitchen recipes in the comments.

Thank you for reading and happy cooking!

I read her blog regularly--I love it! I've tried the mushroom lasagna, baked pumpkin custard with sour cream topping, and swiss chard pasta with garlic chips, and they are all swoon-worthy. She has a great sense of humor, which makes reading her recipe intros loads of fun. Even when I am less interested in the recipe (anything with eggplant), she makes her journey of the recipe a worthwhile read. Thanks for sharing.

I completely agree. Her posts are a joy to read. I really like some of the stories behind her making a recipe.
Oh my god--I forgot. I also made her strawberry cake with barley flour. Wooooo! Love! Now I'm just waiting for strawberry season.

I know what you mean. I have a hard time cutting sweets out of my diet. The Spanish Rice dish is very easy to make, and there are very few ingredients compared to other dishes I've tried.
Oh I adore Smitten Kitchen too. I go to her blog to look for recipes too :) Her sweet potato and swiss chard gratin is awesome!! (perfect for the holidays.....we still have a few more days, I mean months to go) Thanks for sharing Kimmy!!
It looks delicious! I have a giveaway on my blog so feel free to join it:)
