{ Want } Summer Dreams

Hi all and happy pre-Friday-Memorial-Weekend Extravaganza! I'm excited for the weekend for a number of reasons other than the obvious. It's the unofficial start of summer, the Hubby and I celebrate our anniversary during this holiday (woot!), and we will, once again, become weekend explorers.

While looking through my archives, I realized that I haven't shared a Want post in a while. I think it's mainly due to my shopping ban, so I'm not really window shopping as often as before. With this warm holiday weekend coming up, I created a wishlist of what I would wear to a bar-b-que or a day at the Treasure Island Flea Market.

Hi readers and happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and were able to take advantage of the warm weather we've been having.

Over the weekend the Hubby and I drove up to Fort Bragg for a quiet getaway. We stayed in a quaint B&B called The Weller House Inn. Our room was bright and sunny and had a beautiful view of the front garden.

The following day we visited the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. There were over 47 acres of beautiful plants and flowers in different stages of bloom. My favorites were the Rhododendrons that came in every shade of pink, red and white.

The gardens extended out to the cliffs. It was approximately half a mile to get to the coast and the view did not disappoint. There were hills covered with grass and different types of flowers that were peppered throughout and even on the side of the cliffs.

Later that day, we drove 15 minutes south to Mendocino Village to take a walk around the headlands and to visit my favorite jam shop to restock my supplies. The water was clear and in beautiful shades of blue, which has inspired me for future redecorating plans.

After dinner, we took a short walk to Glass Beach, which was near our inn. We didn't see glass, but the coastline was spectacular. This look sums up my weekend wear: denim and a tee.

We waited for a while to watch the sunset on Glass Beach. The wind started to pick up which made it too chilly to stay, so we ended up watching the full sunset on the water-tower-turned-observation-deck at the inn.

On our drive back home, we decided to stop halfway in Healdsburg for lunch and a sweet treat. We happened upon a bakery called Moustache Baked Goods. This dainty cupcake is called The Mistress (meyer lemon cupcake with raspberry filling and raspberry buttercream icing). It was the sweet ending to a perfect weekend.

{ Wear } Purple and Pink

Hi readers and happy Hump Day! I hope your week is going well so far.

Over the warm weekend, the Hubby and I had lots of fun as mentioned in my previous post. Here is what I wore for the warm Spring weather.

I've had this skirt for a few years now, but didn't really know how else to style it instead of the usual tank or tee. I love that the weather makes it possible for layering.

Hi readers and happy Monday! I hope your weekend was awesome! It was very warm, almost too warm, this weekend. The Hubby and I found our way to the Presidio on Sunday and walked around taking pictures. Afterward, we took a short drive down the coast before stopping by our favorite pizza shop in the Sunset neighborhood.

My week was actually pretty quiet this time around, so there aren't too many photos. I made Buffalo Shrimp Mac and Cheese, but, of course, I forgot to take pictures of the results. I'm sure I will make it again soon, so I will definitely take photos.

On Saturday night, the Hubby and I watched The Avengers. We wanted to see it in the afternoon, but it was sold out, along with many of the evening shows. We were lucky enough to get tickets and a great seat. I had major geek moments throughout the movie. I think I kept saying, "So cool!" throughout the movie.

The views of the Golden Gate Bridge from the Presidio were quite amazing. I still can't get used to seeing it.

It's Yoda! There's a Yoda statue in the Presidio which makes sense since Lucasfilm and Lucasarts are located there.

Across from the Presidio is the Exploratorium and The Palace of Fine Arts. This is a tiny view of this massive structure. It was quite breathtaking with lots of photo opportunities.

On our way out of the Presidio, we happened upon this road along the coast. We weren't expecting such a magnificent view, so our jaws dropped when the tree lined road made way to this open space.

Here's a preview of my next outfit post. A little bit of pattern mixing for good measure.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Monday. Thanks for reading!
