Out For The Count

Good evening, readers.

I came back from our fun weekend camping trip with a head cold. Boo! I apologize for keeping this a short post again, but I must since my cold medicine is kicking in. If I keep this post too long, it will turn into an entirely different blog altogether. You saw what coffee and sugar will do to me...

I gave a sneak peek on Friday of what I wore to work. I have ventured into the realm of mixing patterns, and it was not easy. I knew I wanted to wear this skirt, but I didn't want to wear the obvious: a basic top to match one of the colors in my skirt. When I reached this blouse in my closet, I knew that I might have a chance in pulling this look off.

I hope you all have a great start to the week. Send positive vibes my way while I try to recover.

Blouse: Victoria's Secret (similar style here)

Skirt: Anthropologie Penciled Abronia Skirt (love this one!)

That outfit is amazing! I don't think I would have thought to put the top with the skirt (like you I probably would have gone with a basic top) but I love that you took a chance and went for it! It totally works! On another note, total bummer about the head cold. Hope the medicine kicks in soon - feel better!

Thanks for the well wishes and compliments, Alesha! I had fun taking the risk even though it was outside of my comfort zone.
oh your skirt is stunning! you should wear a lot of skirts and dresses they always look great in you. i did'nt even realize that your waist is that small. maybe you covered it sometimes.=) and thanks for calling me the master pattern-mixer! i love that and I am not afraid of it=)

HI DG! You are a great pattern mixer!
I think that the colors, pattern, and print look really well together. It's always a bit daunting trying something that's a little different from what you usually wear, but you feel so much better once you've done it. Will you do it again? This outfit is beautiful.
This outfit works so well! Sometimes the most unexpected things can work amazingly well.
Afew years back I was looking for a new holiday outfit and I went into a shop and picked up an orange striped polo shirt and a white floaty skirt with golden sequins on the hem. Mum said I was nuts (and I liked them as seperate pieces not thinking they would look good together) but it worked, in a somehow crazy way it just looked so right. I still have no idea why!
Lovely blog!

Hi Ruth! Thank you for the compliments. Did you post this look? It sounds great!
Hi IMAN. I think I will do it again! It was fun even though it was a bit scary. The second time around I'll choose something with confidence.
Beautiful photographs! (You were above me at SITS today!)
I'll check out her blog. I love Anthro!
